This residential led development in Neepsend, on the north bank of the River Don, is named after the former railway line that ran immediately behind the site.

The project ranges from 4 to 9 floors in height and provides 131 one, two and three bedroom apartments with two commercial units.

The architectural response is sensitive to the scale, massing and materials of neighbouring structures whilst responding to the challenging topography and creates a bold new statement on the junction. The residential units define the proportions and volumes of each building and balconies frame spectacular panoramic views overlooking the city centre.

At ground level, the light filled entrance lobby is set back from the road to create a dramatic sense of arrival. The development includes an internal courtyard which are screened and protected from the road by a landscaped colonnade. Combining places to work with exceptional residences, the scheme will reinvigorate and transform this key intersection nodal point in the city centre and contribute to the ongoing regeneration of the Kelham Island and Neepsend area, a rapidly developing quarter that won the Best UK Neighbourhood Award at the Academy of Urbanism Awards in 2018.
