Sustainable architecture has become a leading consideration for our practice and we take great pride in not only in crafting designs that excel in form and function, but also in being able to come up with integrated solutions that take into account environmental factors. As a consequence, we are thrilled that two of our most recent projects have been recognised for their sustainable design, green construction, and energy-saving measures.
The nominations are for:
The Waverley Phase 2 project uses an LG SFS frame for its structure. This is classed as a modern method of construction produced off-site in a factory and assembled on site. The MMC construction method speeds up the build programme, reduces waste and helps to create more air-tight and sustainable homes.
Similarly, the properties at Sky House Co Oughtibridge use modular and semi-modular construction techniques. Construction offsite enables us to create homes that are more airtight and, therefore, better suited to contemporary needs. The construction techniques are carbon zero and Sky House Co are actively offsetting their carbon footprint on every project. All new homes are also zero gas, well in advance of the government’s 2025 schedule. They also include EV charging points for vehicles, photovoltaic panels that convert sunlight into electricity and air source heat pumps, rated one of the most efficient appliances on the market to heat the home.
Insider’s regional Property Industry Awards are one of the most respected award ceremonies in the property sector calendar, showcasing the very best developments and businesses that are helping to shape the future of our built environment, and we are delighted to have two schemes shortlisted.
The winners are due to be announced on Thursday the 7th July 2022. Congratulations to all those who are shortlisted. We look forward to attending the awards dinner and seeing the winners unveiled.
