AFC Pogmoor is the Barnsley football club that is part of Sheffield and District Junior League, Sheffield and Hallamshire Women and Girls League and Barnsley and District Junior League.
“The club is a perfect example of a community being brought together, helping young people to build their confidence, learn the value of teamwork and develop skills for life and all the while making new friends and having fun,” said CODA Managing Director Matt Bowker.
“A huge shout out must go to our team manager Jim Parker and assistant coach Jason Beecroft, who give so much of their time looking after the development and well-being of the girls, both on and off the pitch.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Under 11s in the coming months and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
Club chairman James Livesey commented: “On the eve of our tenth birthday we now support a total of 22 teams including 19 junior teams - 12 boys and 7 girls - Adult Disability, Walking Football and the Poggy All Stars, a men’s group who play weekly as well as taking part in charity games that have raised £1,000 for Barnsley Hospital Acute Stroke Ward.
“We have also achieved Community Amateur Sports Club status and now have Three Star FA accreditation.
“Along with our Junior Girls’ Coaching Club and the Poggy Paparazzi - support for a group of players who’ve shown an interest in sports photography - we are providing support and encouragement at so many different levels of the game.
“The sponsorship offered by CODA really will make a difference to the girls who make up our Under 11s team.”
