Plans have been lodged for an 18-storey tower in Sheffield city centre that could provide accommodation for almost 300 students.

The 18-storey block has been designed by our team on behalf of Leeds-based developer the KMRE Group. The site is currently occupied by Bushbury House, a three-storey, 1960s office building, which would be demolished under the plans.

The development will feature 113 student apartments totalling 286 beds, comprised of clusters and studio units above recreation spaces. The plans also include a ground floor retail unit as well as amenity space and bike storage for residents.

The development will see a continuation of the high density development of the St Mary’s Gate area and is seen as a sign of continued confidence in the strength of the Sheffield student market.
